Participant Reviews

“The most healing experience I’ve ever had, at the most beautiful retreat center (I was at the Costa Rica location). Everything about Soltara is incredibly thorough, insightful, mindful, and exquisitely done. From the facilitators to the chefs to the cleaning staff to the guards – everyone is kind hearted, detail oriented, and talented.”

“My time at Soltara Healing Center in Playa Blanca was nothing short of life-changing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for in a way that immediately put me at ease. The staff and facilitators (Bonnie, Nicholas and Frida) aren’t just professional, they’re incredibly genuine, compassionate, and present. You can feel that they truly want the best for everyone who comes through the doors.

The setting is absolutely stunning. Being surrounded by nature, hearing the sounds of the jungle, and looking out over the water created such a peaceful atmosphere. The food was delicious and nourishing, and the accommodations were comfortable, which made it easy to focus fully on the healing process.

The ceremonies themselves were powerful and deeply moving, I did struggle to connect in a few and the team certainly helped me through that. The Shipibo healers carried such wisdom and authenticity, and the facilitators made me feel safe and supported every step of the way. I never once felt alone in the process, I knew I was in good hands. The integration circles were just as important as the ceremonies, giving me space to reflect, share, and make sense of everything that came up.

I left Soltara with a sense of healing, and connection that I’ve been searching for years. Beyond the experiences during the retreat, I now have tools and practices to carry forward into my daily life.

If you’re considering going to Soltara, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s a place of real healing, love, and transformation, and I’m so grateful I chose to take this journey there.”

“As a person of color, I felt some initial anxiety about how my presence and experiences might be received in a healing space like this. What I found at Soltara, however, was an environment grounded in inclusivity, respect, and genuine care. The community that formed among participants quickly became a source of strength, allowing me to feel safe and supported as I engaged with the work.

The facilitators and Shipibo healers created a compassionate and culturally sensitive container that enabled me to not only explore personal challenges but also to begin addressing the deeper layers of generational trauma carried within my family and community. This thoughtful approach made the healing feel both personal and collective in nature.”

“Soltara holds a sacred, intentional space where the medicine is treated with deep respect. The facilitators, Shipibo healers, and the entire staff brought a rare combination of professionalism, heart, and spiritual depth. I felt safe, supported, and seen throughout the journey. This is not a retreat—it’s a rite of passage, and I’m leaving with more clarity, gratitude, and connection than I ever imagined possible.”

Rohit Iyer

“Even if I really tried, it would be hard to find things to complain about at Soltara: the location is amazing, so are the rooms and other facilities. The nature, the delicious, fresh local food and incredibly professional facilitators. It would be hard to think of what else could be done to make Soltara a more safe and healing place.”
